The World of Hyatt is a points per dollar spent loyalty rewards program offered by Hyatt Hotels. Members can earn points for their stays and redeem them for free hotel nights, room upgrades, airline miles and more. In addition to earning points through stays, members can also take advantage of exclusive offers and discounts. This article will take a closer look at this rewards program, benefits offered to its members and the additional advantages/perks offered in each tier of member status.
Base Points are earned when members stay at any of the participating Hyatt hotels or resorts. Examples of qualifying spending include room rates, spa services, and food & beverage charges during eligible stays. Bonus Points may also be earned through select promotional offers, but do not contribute to earning a higher status level or elite benefits. Bonus Points are solely used for redemption purposes. The higher the tier status level you climb, the more points/benefits you will earn.
Redeeming Points for Free Nights
Free nights begin at 3,500 points — but hotel category (1-8), room type, and peak season bookings will affect the amount of points needed. For example a standard room at a Hyatt Place in Dallas or Nashville during their peak season would start around 6,500 points, but an off-peak standard room at the Park Hyatt NYC or Wailea Beach Villas in Maui would start at 35,000. Be aware that the categories of many hotels are changing soon and while some are going down a tick, most are going up to a higher level, meaning more points needed per free night. To view the most current hotel category listings, head over to hyatt.com or click on the category numbers in the chart below.
