Revelstoke, British Columbia is a beautiful mountain town situated in the heart of the Selkirk mountains. Right before the Pandemic hit my brother and I traveled to this amazing place and it was one of the best ski destinations I have ever encountered. Revelstoke boasts stunning views and outdoor recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors alike. Downtown Revelstoke is lined with shops, restaurants, and other amenities, and the prevailing friendly atmosphere makes it an inviting and welcoming place to visit. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure or simply want to take in the sights, Revelstoke, British Columbia is awesome.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort

Revelstoke Mountain Resort is a 5 min bus ride from town that costs $2 CA each way. With over 5,620 acres of terrain, Revelstoke Mountain Resort certainly has something for everyone – from beginner runs to expert level side-country. The resort is known for its deep powder snow, with an average of 413 inches per season! Prior to development of the resort, the area was known as a ski-touring mecca and it still plays host to several heli, cat-skiing, and backcountry guiding services.

The resort has the largest vertical drop in North America, at 5,620 feet. It doesn’t matter how fit you may think you are, Revelstoke Mountain Resort will CRUSH your legs. Revelstoke Mountain Resort also offers amenities such as a ski school, equipment rentals and on-site accommodation for those who wish to stay and enjoy the resort for an extended period of time. My brother and I booked some cat skiing on our last trip and can highly recommend Great Northern Snow Cat skiing operation offered through the resort. The guides were great, the lunch provided was tasty and the runs were deep, steep and unforgettable. Revelstoke is truly a skier’s paradise! With its incredible terrain and massive vertical drop, Revelstoke Mountain Resort is a must-ski destination for winter adventurers.

Eating/Drinking in Revelstoke, BC

When we first arrived in the town around 7 PM, my brother and I walked Main Street and I asked “where is everyone?” My brother laughed and said we’d find where the party is at. We quickly found The Last Drop Pub was the place to be. Whether you are looking for something light or hearty, Last Drop’s menu has something that every visitor can enjoy. Not to mention their extensive selection of craft beers and ciders. Last Drop has pretty much everything you need for a great night out in Revelstoke – including good vibes and live music! So make sure Last Drop Pub is on your list if you’ve visiting downtown.

The Village Idiot is another place worth a stop during any visit to Revy. Pizza is their specialty and don’t be surprised if the restaurant is packed. Don’t panic though, the staff will find a spot for you quickly since they operate with an open table policy. You will probably be dining with a group of people you have never met before, however, you’ll likely all have something in common…skiing. This cozy neighborhood spot serves up classic pub grub with a twist – from their famous pizza’s, fish tacos, to their re-imagined burgers, each dish is sure to hit the spot! With an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, the Village Idiot has become a local favorite.

Finally, The Quartermaster Eatery in Revelstoke, BC is the place to go when you’re looking for an upscale dinner. The menu offers a wide variety of options from mouth-watering tacos to lamb. Trust me, the Quartermaster has something for everyone. If you’re feeling adventurous, try one of their signature dishes—you won’t regret it. The Cabin in downtown Revelstoke was a lot of fun and I recommend checking it out if bowling piques your interest. What could make a night out of bowling even better? A cold drink or two of course! The Cabin has you covered. A local favorite, this cozy little establishment offers five-pin bowling, as well as an extensive selection of beer, wine, and cocktails (be sure to try one of the famous fish bowls) to enjoy while you bowl. The only thing you have to worry about is scoring a strike while reminiscing about the steep and deep pow runs you just experienced. FYI, I handily beat my brother in bowling on this trip.
