Earn points
Members can accumulate points with their hotel stays and exchange them for free nights at IHG Hotels & Resorts worldwide. Alternatively, they can opt in to receive airline miles which can be used towards future flights. You will earn 10 points for every dollar spent at most IHG hotels and 5 points per every dollar spent at Candlewood and Staybridge Suites locations.
Hertz –Rental: Earn 1,500 points per rental with Hertz. Be sure to book your rental directly through IHG website to receive your points.
GrubHub: Earn 500 IHG One points for your first ever GrubHub order placed through IHG website. Earn 250 IHG points for every additional order.

When you reach 20 qualified nights in a calendar year, you become eligible to choose a reward for every 10 nights that follow. You have the opportunity to earn and choose up to 100 rewards throughout the course of one calendar year. Tiers
IHG offers a 5 tier elite status system that rewards its members with increasing benefits as they progress up the ladder.
Club Member
The first tier offered by IHG and when you sign up for the rewards program, you’ll automatically be enrolled in this entry-level tier. As a member of this tier, you will be eligible for:
- Earn points for reward nights with no blackout dates
- Member rates and promotion options
- Free Wi-Fi
- Late 2PM check out option (if available)
- Points will expire in a 12 month period if your account is inactive. In order to avoid your points to expire, earn or redeem at least one point every 12 months.
Silver Elite
In order to achieve this tier status level you will need to have accumulated 10 qualified nights in a 12 month period. All of the benefits offered in the Club membership tier is included in addition to:
- Earn 20% bonus points
- Points will not expire
Gold Elite
To obtain the Gold Elite tier level you will need to have banked 20 qualified nights or 40,000 points in a 12 month period. Additional benefits include:
- Earn 40% bonus points
- The ability to rollover extra nights to use towards earning status next year
- Start earning Milestone rewards
Platinum Elite
In order to reach Platinum Elite you will need to have accumulated 40 qualified nights or 60,000 points in a 12 month period. All of the benefits included with the previous tiers are included as well as:
- Earn 60% bonus points
- Complimentary room upgrades when available
- Welcome amenity when checking in (points or snack/drink)
- Early check in option, when available
- Reward night discounts
- Guaranteed room availability with 72 hours noice
Diamond Elite
The highest elite tier advertised by IHG and all of the benefits offered in the previous tiers are included. In order to reach this tier level you will need to have banked 70 qualified nights or 120,000 points in a 12 month period. Additional benefits offered are as follows:
- Earn 100% bonus points
- Dedicated Diamond support line for bookings and hotel needs
- Welcome amenity at check in (Free breakfast for two, points or drink/snack)
InterContinental Ambassador Program
The Ambassador program is specific to IHG InterContinental branded properties and it is not earned, it’s bought for the low price of $200. To start with, once you join and pay your membership fee, you’re automatically awarded Platinum Elite status. Additional benefits include:
- Guaranteed one category room upgrades
- Extended 4PM Late Checkout
- One complimentary weekend night to use for the second night of a paid weekend stay (can be used at Kimpton & Regent as well)
- $20 Bar & Restaurant credit per stay
- Complimentary waters
- Single room rate for double occupancy stays
While these benefits are exclusive to InterContinental hotels (and Six Senses properties) — due to your automatic Platinum status, you’ll have some great benefits at all IHG properties. Delta: Earn 2 miles per $1 spent on all IHG room rates. Earn 1 miles per dollar spent on room rates at Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood and Staybridge Suites. You can also redeem 10,000 IHG points for 2,000 Sky miles by contacting IHG service center.
JetBlue: Earn 2 TrueBlue points per $1 spent on qualifying room rates at IHG locations. Earn 1 TrueBlue point per $1 spent on roommates at Candlewood and Staybridge Suites. Redeem 10,000 IHG points for 2,000 TruBlue points by contacting IHG service center.
Alaska Airlines: Earn 2 miles per $1 spent on IHG room rates. Earn 1 mile per $1 sent at Candlewood and Staybridge Suites. Redeem 10,000 IHG points for 2,000 Alaska miles by contacting IHG service center.
United Airlines: Earn 2 miles per $1 spent on room rates at IHG locations. Earn 1 mile per $1 spent at Candlewood and Staybridge Suites. Redeem 10,000 IHG points for 2,000 MileagePlus miles by contacting the IHG service center.
